on july 10th, tesla signed a pure electric vehicle project investment agreement with shanghai lingang administrative committee and lingang group. zhou bo, the deputy mayor of shanghai, and ren yuxiang, the vice president of tesla, signed the agreement on behalf of both parties.

tesla will build a wholly-owned tesla super factory (gigafactory 3) with integrated r&d, manufacturing and sales functions in the lingang area. the project has an annual production capacity of 500,000 units. this amount is not small, according to musk’s previous it is planned that the super factory in china will not produce the high-end model s/x, which mainly produces model 3 and model y.
